Joan Collins predicts Oscar success

Joan Collins has hinted The Artist will win big at the upcoming Oscars.

The Academy Awards are taking place in Los Angeles on Sunday, with The Artist the frontrunner. The homage to silent movies has been nominated for ten of the prestigious golden statues, among them best actor, best picture and best director.

The awards are voted for by members of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which include many actors. Joan is among them and is looking forward to seeing who triumphs on the night.

John Madden praises ‘rich’ cast

John Madden felt his latest movie was an “embarrassment of riches” because the cast was so strong.

The director is behind The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, which stars Dame Judi Dench, Dev Patel, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, Maggie Smith, Celia Imrie and Penelope Wilton. It’s about a group of ageing Brits who want to change their lives, so decide to travel to India.

John has heaped praise on screenwriter Ol Parker for making the story tantalizing. It’s based on the book by Deborah Moggach, although many changes have been made.

Shawn Levy: Kodachrome script is beautiful

Shawn Levy thinks Kodachrome is a “beautiful script” that he hopes will develop into a great movie.

The director is involved with the upcoming project that is based on a newspaper article about the closing of the last Kodachrome lab in America.

Shawn is excited to get his teeth stuck into the film, as he thinks it has a very strong script.

Woody Harrelson: Hunger Games is different

Woody Harrelson says The Hunger Games isn’t “anything normal”.

The actor is impressed that every little detail of the upcoming movie has been created in a totally “unique” way.

The star portrays Katniss Everdeen's mentor Haymitch in the film adaption of the hugely successful book and loved working on the picture.

Jonah Hill: I promised to make Channing funny

Jonah Hill told Channing Tatum he had permission to “beat [him] up” if he didn’t fulfil his promise of “making him funny” in 21 Jump Street.

The actors star in the big screen reboot of the famous TV crime drama series. The action comedy follows two policemen who are sent undercover to a local high school.

Jonah says Channing’s involvement in the film was a thrilling one, and has recalled roping him into doing a comedy picture.

Russell Crowe hopes musical will ‘touch hearts’

Russell Crowe hopes that the music from upcoming movie Les Misérables will “touch hearts”.

The actor discussed the film adaptation of the hugely successful musical with his followers on Twitter and revealed details about the soundtrack.

The star is portraying Inspector Javert in the latest version of the Victor Hugo classic.

When asked whether the accompanying score would be recorded separately or using material from the film, Russell was seemingly confused but said he hoped fans would like the selection.

Josh Duhamel lands road trip comedy

Josh Duhamel is set to star in the new comedy Scenic Route.

The heartthrob will joined by Dan Fogler for the picture.

The movie will see them play "two former college buddies who go on a road trip and become stranded in the desert". They then see their friendship tested as they begin arguing amid fears they will never be rescued.

The script has been penned by Kyle Killen, whose previous credits include The Beaver.

Scenic Route will be directed by Kevin and Michael Goetz. They last collaborated on Mass Transit in 1998.

Charlie Sheen is ‘charming’

Charlie Sheen has no “diva attitude”, according to his co-star.

The actor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead star together in upcoming movie, A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III.

And despite reports to the contrary, Mary says the former Two and a Half Men star did not bring any drama to the set.

“He’s completely past that,” Amy told E! Online referring to Charlie’s public meltdown last year.

“With a lot of really big actors, you see a bit of unprofessionalism or a little bit of a diva attitude or something, but there was none of that.
